CLASSES OVERVIEW

Classes at The King’s Church exist for gospel formation through increasing Biblical literacy and theological development. Our classes are designed to help members at The King’s Church grow in their discipleship and to promote lifelong faithfulness to the gospel, through increasing understanding of God and his word. They are designed to teach and train participants to better study the Scriptures and apply them to all of life. Classes are designed to supplement (not replace) participation in City Groups

This two pronged approach is accomplished through Bible Study (Biblical literacy) and Doctrine Courses (theological development). Classes are offered on a semester basis. In the Spring and Fall semester we offer a Bible Study Class (~8 weeks long) focused on a particular book of the Bible; during the Summer semester, our pastors will teach a Doctrine Course (~5 weeks long) that will explore various theological, ethical, or historical topics to improve doctrinal proficiency.

Bible Study classes are designed to be active learning environments where the participant is actively studying the Bible and then bringing their work into a classroom setting where teaching and learning will take place. Doctrine Classes are designed to be more of a larger and engaging classroom setting. Participants will utilize assigned books for outside reading as they prepare for each weeks lesson through teaching, questions and answers, and table discussions.

  • The Doctrine of Scripture: An Introduction (Mark D. Thompson)

  • The Trinity: An Introduction (Scott R. Swain)
