YOUTH AT THE KING’S CHURCH
TKC Youth’s end goal for students in the local church is maturity in Christ. To grow in maturity, students (6th-12th grade) must see and behold Christ in his Word. Youth serves as a front door into the study of God’s Word to this end. Our gatherings form a student through increasing their biblical literacy, theological understanding, and delight in the Word. This is our sole focus in equipping the saints for the work of the ministry (2 Tim. 3:16). We labor in this way so that students can faithfully follow Jesus into their next step of obedience. In other words, TKC Youth should not be the final stop of faith for a teenager. Rather, they should pursue further connection to the Body of Christ. This will hopefully look like independent participation in City Groups and Lord-willing, membership at the King’s Church if they are a follower of Jesus before they graduate high-school.
Our role as youth ministers is not primary, but supplementary as we believe that parents are the frontline disciplers of the home. We hope to come alongside their efforts through support, resourcing, and encouragement. Parents have been graciously called to daily lead their children toward Jesus and TKC Youth is an auxiliary ministry which supplements those efforts through teaching and relationship building.
Youth Gathering Details: The student ministry meets on a semester-basis on Sunday evenings (6-8 pm) in the Fellowship Hall in the back building of the Chapel (730 Florida Ave S, Lakeland, FL 33801)
Our Youth and Students meeting schedule follows a similar rhythm to our City Groups. We take off the first Sunday of each month and meet on the remaining Sundays from 6:00-8:00pm. Any changes to or deviations from this schedule will be communicated to students and parents ahead of time.
Our first Sunday evening gathering in Fall 2026 will be August 9th.
We also encourage our students to be involved in the other opportunities we offer as a church, including City Groups, Classes, and serving on one of our ministry teams.
