YOUTH & STUDENTS AT THE KING’S CHURCH

The King’s Church youth ministry’s (6th-12th grade) mission is to come alongside parents in the discipleship of their youth by providing spaces to build relationships, study the Bible, and witness how the Good News that Jesus has come to save and rescue sinners is lived out. We believe that parents are the frontline disciplers of the home and hope to come alongside their efforts. We hope and pray to be a support, resource, and encouragement to the parents who have been graciously called to daily lead their children toward Jesus.

We desire that the young men and young women who are a part of TKC Youth will mature into Gospel men and Gospel women through the pathway of strategic discipleship with key voices in their life. This looks like bolstering our student’s competencies in Gospel doctrine, Gospel identity, how to live out the Gospel to their family and friends, and how the Gospel confronts the key pressures they are facing at this age. We want to counter the enemy’s whispers to entice our children with lies and empty promises by proclaiming the shouts of God’s never disappointing truth and promises towards them in the hopes that they will grow in their discipleship to Jesus, and be less likely to depart from the way in which they have been trained up. We pray that this ministry will help produce young men and women at TKC who love Jesus, love their church, and love their parents.

Youth Gatherings: Our youth gatherings are a chance for students to share a meal and recreation with their leaders and peers (Gospel Friendship), learn how to study God’s Word (Gospel Doctrine), apply the Scriptures to all of life (Gospel Fluency), and engage in meaningful small group discussions with others in their same age & gender (Gospel Conversations). These meetings are held on a semester-basis on Wednesday evenings (6-8 pm) in the Fellowship Hall in the back building on our church property.

We also encourage our students to be involved in the other opportunities we offer as a church, including City Groups, Classes, and serving on one of our ministry teams.

Our Youth and Students meeting schedule follows a similar rhythm to our City Groups. We take off the first Wednesday of each month and meet on the remaining Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00pm. Any changes to or deviations from this schedule will be communicated to students and parents ahead of time.
