The King’s Church was planted 8 years ago with a vision to see a greater worship of Jesus through declaring and displaying the gospel.

“These men who have turned this world upside down have come here also … saying there is another king, Jesus.”

Since planting in 2018, we’ve seen the Lord move in mighty ways in and through our church. We have…

  • Celebrated many salvations and baptisms as the Lord makes and matures disciples across generations.

  • Seen a healthy church culture cultivated around our core values of Finding Beauty in the Ordinary, Fighting to Show Up, Faithfully Pursuing Meaningful Conversations, and Following Jesus as He Builds His Church.

  • Seen a sustained emphasis on caring for orphans through foster care, adoption, and wrap-around support for those on the frontlines of loving the fatherless and motherless

  • Seen the Lord’s provision in providing The Chapel after gathering for worship at Dixieland Elementary and Union Hall.

  • Been able to develop a robust leadership pipeline for the purpose of discipling, developing, and deploying leaders for the Kingdom of God.

  • Championed and supported the work of church planting locally, regionally, and globally.

For all of these things and more - we give God the glory, honor, and praise for His faithfulness to The King’s Church.

THE VISION

The King’s Church has experienced significant growth over the last four years, as our congregation has quadrupled in size since moving into The Chapel. Our current space for Sunday corporate worship, Kingdom Kids, and other ministry areas are either at or over capacity.

While responding to this growth from the Lord, we also have a deep desire to remain committed to the multiplication of the gospel outward through the planting of new congregations and new churches

The Lord has given us a clear vision for the future of The King’s Church in this next season and beyond that allows us to remain committed to healthy and sustainable growth as a church alongside generous multiplication efforts to see the gospel reach new people in new places.

Rooted is a strategic two-year initiative for our church to grow deeper in Christ, grow stronger together, and bear lasting fruit for the glory of God.

As we respond to what the Lord is doing at The King’s Church, he has led us to three significant opportunities in this Rooted initiative:

GROWING

Growing our capacity to gather for worship by moving our Sundays to Geneva Classical Academy. This move is driven by hospitality as we respond to the growth the Lord has brought to our church family. This move allows us to increase our gathering capacity so that more people can hear the gospel and be invited to a greater worship of Jesus.

PLANTING

Planting new TKC congregations across Lakeland, beginning with TKC South in the spring of 2027. Becoming one church in multiple congregations allows us to multiply the healthy DNA and gospel culture of our church to reach new places and new people with the good news of Jesus Christ.

ESTABLISHING

Establishing a center for ministry at The Chapel for all of our TKC congregations. God has given us a home base in the heart of Lakeland at The Chapel, a space that has significantly shaped our worship, discipleship, and mission as a church family. Rooted will seek to secure this gift for long-term gospel ministry by significantly reducing our debt, allowing it to serve as a hub for ministry and for the flourishing of our city.

THE INVITATION

Over the next 2 years, we are asking all who call TKC home to join in making Rooted a reality by praying, engaging, and giving in new ways during this season as we follow Jesus as he builds his church in our midst.

We invite you to take your next step in being rooted with TKC to reach the goal of $4.25 million to fulfill this vision. $3.1 million will meet our anticipated operating budget, enabling us to continue to expand our current ministries and missional efforts. $1.15 million in expanded giving will allow us to transition our Sundays to Geneva, raise start-up funds for new TKC congregational plants, and significantly reduce our debt at The Chapel.

  • First, we are asking everyone who calls TKC home to pray and seek God’s leading through this initiative. We invite you to consistently pray for TKC and join us for our monthly day of prayer and fasting. Second, we are encouraging everyone to engage in the life of TKC as a healthy member and disciple of Jesus, fighting to show up to worship, City Groups, and other opportunities. Lastly, we are asking everyone to consider giving generously toward the vision the Lord has put before us as we continue to follow Jesus as he builds his church.

  • Rather than having separate generosity campaign in addition to our regular giving, Rooted will utilize a “One-Fund” approach, where our normal operating budget and expanded opportunities will fall under the same umbrella. This allows us to set a single financial goal that will fund current ministry alongside expanded opportunities in this next season at TKC.

  • Our generosity goal for the Rooted initiative is $4.25M. Our projected operating budget during this time period is $3.1M. We plan to apply the “expanded giving” ($1.15M) portion of

    Rooted as follows:

    • $100,000: Offsetting costs for move to Geneva

    • $200,000: TKC South Fundraising

    • $850,000: Significantly reducing our debt on The Chapel

  • Rooted will be a two-year initiative, running from November 1st, 2026 through October 31st, 2028. We are asking those who are able to consider contributing a “first fruits” gift on Sunday, November 1st in order to jump start this initiative.

  • We currently owe just under $1.4M on the Chapel, and our mortgage payment is around ~$10k a month. Our loan arrangement allows us to make additional principal payments with no penalty that will lower our monthly payments, freeing up valuable resources for ministry.

  • Both congregations will be participating in Rooted for the duration of this initiative; this will help establish The King’s Church and all of our congregations institutionally for long-term fruitfulness. The expanded giving portion of Rooted will be a blessing to both of our congregations in this next season and ensure TKC South starts as strong as possible.

  • We are asking everyone to fill out a Commitment Card so that we can adequately plan with wisdom toward these initiatives, and not make presumptions on the Lord or on those who call TKC home. This process of filling out a commitment card also creates opportunities for each of us to consider what generosity looks like in our own unique circumstances, opportunities, and season of life.

  • Of course - all of us are making the best decision we can based on prayer, discernment, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. However, we know that unforeseen circumstances may cause an increase or decrease to your giving commitment in the future. You can ask for another commitment card at any time and turn it in as an update.
